Sichuan Travelogue 四川之旅

Last summer vacation, I spent a wonderful week in Sichuan Province. Sichuan is famous for its spicy food, breathtaking scenery, and cute pandas. Let me share with you some of the highlights of my trip.

On the first day, I arrived in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan. One of the must-visit places in Chengdu is the Panda Base where you can see cute pandas eating bamboo, playing with each other, and taking naps. It was such a heartwarming experience.

The second day was devoted to exploring the Leshan Giant Buddha. It is the largest stone Buddha in the world and was built during the Tang Dynasty. It took over 90 years to complete and has survived numerous natural disasters. The Buddha is over 71 meters high and sitting on the bank of the Dadu River. The view from the top of the Buddha is stunning.

We went to the Jiuzhaigou Valley on the third day, which is known for its crystal clear water and colorful lakes. We walked along the trails, took pictures of the reflection of the mountains and trees on the water, and breathed in the fresh air. We even saw some wild monkeys playing on the trees.

On the last day of our trip, we visited the Mount Emei. It is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We took the cable car to the Golden Summit and saw the sea of clouds and the sunrise. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

In conclusion, my trip to Sichuan was a perfect mix of culture, nature, and adventure. I had so much fun and made unforgettable memories.

The Great Wall 长城

The Great Wall of China is one of the greatest wonders of the world. It is located in northern China and stretches over 13,000 miles from east to west. It was originally built over 2,000 years ago during the Warring States Period, and later joined together and renovated during the Ming Dynasty with the intention of preventing enemy invasion.

The Great Wall is not only a masterpiece of ancient military architecture, but also a symbol of Chinese civilization and cultural heritage. It is made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials. It is wide enough for five horses, and high enough for ten soldiers to stand on top. There are many famous sections of the Great Wall, such as Badaling, Mutianyu, and Jinshanling. Badaling, the most well-known section, attracts millions of domestic and foreign tourists every year.

Despite its fame, The Great Wall is facing many challenges, particularly from human activities such as graffiti, garbage, and the lack of maintenance. As visitors, it is our responsibility to protect this precious cultural heritage for future generations.

Taking a Bullet Train 乘坐高铁

During my recent trip to China, I decided to take the bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai. It was a convenient and efficient way to travel between the two cities, covering over 1,000 kilometers in just about 5 hours.

The bullet train is known for its speed, comfort, and convenience. It runs on electricity, making it an environmentally friendly option. The seats are spacious, and there is a luggage shelf and a foldable table for each passenger. It also has a dining car that offers meals and snacks.

On the train, I had a chance to relax, read a book, and enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window. The passing landscapes ranged from rural villages, rolling hills, to modern cities. What impressed me the most was the smoothness of the ride, even at high speeds of up to 350 km/h.

One thing to keep in mind is that the ticket prices for the bullet train are relatively high compared to other means of transportation in China. However, the convenience and efficiency of the ride are definitely worth it.

Staying at a Hostel 入住背包客栈

On my backpacking trip to Europe, I chose to stay at a hostel in Amsterdam. It was a budget-friendly option that allowed me to meet other travelers and experience the local culture.

The hostel had a variety of facilities, including dormitories, private rooms, lockers, a kitchen, a common area, and a bar. The staff was friendly and helpful, and gave me tips on places to visit and how to get around the city.

My dormitory was clean and comfortable, with individual bunk beds and personal reading lights. I met travelers from all over the world, and we shared our travel stories and experiences. The common area was also a great place to relax and socialize.

One thing that could be improved was the lack of privacy in the dormitories. The curtains on the bunk beds were not very effective at blocking out light and noise. Also, the bathrooms were shared between several rooms, and sometimes there was a queue.

Overall, staying at a hostel was a great experience that allowed me to save money, make new friends, and have fun.

Eating Thai Food 品尝泰国美食

Thailand is a country famous for its spicy and flavorful cuisine. During my trip to Bangkok, I decided to try some of the local delicacies.

I went to a street food market and ordered Tom Yum Goong, a spicy and sour soup with shrimp, and Pad Thai, a stir-fried noodle dish with chicken and vegetables. The total cost was only a few dollars, which was very affordable.

The soup was hot and sour, with a delicate balance of spices and flavors. The shrimp was plump and juicy, and the lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves added a refreshing aroma. The Pad Thai was savory and sweet, with a crispy texture from the peanuts and bean sprouts.

The street food market was bustling with locals and tourists, and the vendors were friendly and welcoming. I also tried some fresh mango and sticky rice for dessert, which was a perfect way to cool down after the spicy Tom Yum Goong.

Overall, eating Thai food was a delightful experience that allowed me to explore the local culture and taste some of the best flavors in the world. I highly recommend trying it if you have the chance.
