My First Unit of Grade 7 English
Meeting New Friends
As a seventh-grader, I was excited to meet new friends in my English class. I was nervous, but also eager to get to know my classmates. During our first class, we were asked to introduce ourselves and share something interesting about us.
Learning English Grammar
The first unit of Grade 7 English focused on grammar. Our teacher taught us about parts of speech, sentence structure, and punctuation. At first, it was a bit challenging to understand everything, but our teacher patiently explained and gave us lots of practice exercises.
Reading and Writing
We were also introduced to some classic English literature during this unit. We read a short story called “The Gift of the Magi” and wrote a summary of it. It was my first time reading a story in English, but I found it enjoyable and interesting.
Finally, we were assigned to create a project about anything related to English culture. I chose to make a poster about William Shakespeare. It was a fun and creative project, and I learned a lot about Shakespeare’s life and work.
Overall, my first unit of Grade 7 English was a great experience. I made new friends, learned a lot about English grammar, enjoyed reading English literature, and had fun with a creative project. I’m looking forward to the rest of the school year!
